Stonington weighs donated sewer blowers, inspects compatibility as building expansion nears completion

President Bruce Dowdy reported that Taylorville is replacing its sewer-plant motors and has offered Stonington the current blowers — "nearly two years old" — at no cost. Dowdy said the only expected expense would be the electrical disconnection required to install the equipment and that Engineer Mark Bingham will inspect the units to verify compatibility with the Village system.
Separately, Dowdy reported the village building expansion is nearly complete but still requires some electrical work; Superintendent Jake Heberling will obtain additional bids for the electrical work to ensure competitive pricing. The Board did not take a formal vote on the blowers at this meeting and asked staff to report back after the engineer's inspection.
