Stonington tables Beer Vault Saloon TIF request pending utility cost estimates

President Bruce Dowdy opened discussion of a tax-increment financing (TIF) application submitted by Beer Vault Saloon, LLC for building improvements and an expansion and said the Board will delay action while it gathers cost information. "Superintendent Jake Heberling will be compiling estimated costs for the upcoming projects to be presented at the February 2, 2026 meeting," Dowdy said, and the Board tabled the application until that meeting.
Dowdy flagged existing TIF commitments the Village faces — water-main upgrades, installation of concrete and catch-basin repairs — and said potential future water-system demand should Edinburg draw water from the SNAWS connection may affect reserve and project timing. The Board did not vote on the Beer Vault request and requested additional cost and capacity information before considering any TIF commitment.
