The Kenedy County-Wide Common School District Board of Trustees on July 29 approved a bundle of routine contracts and policy updates during a regular meeting in Sarita.
Trustee Leticia Vela moved to approve the May 14, 2025 minutes; Secretary Gerardo Medellin seconded and the motion passed unanimously with three votes. The board then approved the Property Coverage Agreement with TASB for 2025–26, the 2025–26 Employee Handbook, the 2025–26 T-TESS calendar and appraisers, and the 2025–26 Student Code of Conduct. Each approval was made by motion and carried unanimously.
The board also approved Policy Update 125, which includes local policy changes relating to board officers’ duties and advisory committees, academic achievement, admissions and school-safety transfers, and attendance-for-credit provisions. Members approved the slate of members for the district’s 2025–26 Safety and Security Committee.
All motions in this package were recorded as passing unanimously (three votes). The approvals clear the way for administrators to implement the policies and ensure the district is covered for the coming school year.
