The Village of Stonington Board of Trustees granted a chicken-keeping permit for a property at 110 N. Main Street during its Nov. 3 meeting. Trustee Tammy Wilson moved to approve the application submitted by Jason and Rhea Dooley; Trustee Scott Kuntzman seconded and the motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
Chief of Police Travis Peden clarified that the chickens observed at Berea Baptist Church fall outside village jurisdiction because the property is in the county. The board did not record further conditions on the Dooley permit at the meeting.
