At its Aug. 12 meeting the Village of Sodus Point Zoning Board approved an area variance allowing Gretchen DePoint to replace an existing fence with a six-foot structure at 7582 5th Street. DePoint said the small lot size made a taller fence desirable to create privacy for a barbecue area; no members of the public objected.
"There is a fence there now and the new fence would replace the old," the minutes record, attributed to the applicant. Steve Nesspor moved to accept the application; Mark Ketcham seconded and the board approved the variance with all three members voting aye.
