Evans told trustees the program has helped many people and asserted that "since the program has been around in Taylorville the crime has dropped by about 55%." The Board agreed to recognize that the Village of Stonington is affiliated with Safe Passage and will post contact information on the Stonington Police Department door.
Evans described Safe Passage as carrying no cost to the Village if the police department posts materials and a contact; trustees expressed support for making the resource available to residents and asked staff to post signage and contact instructions.
