The board had convened in closed session at 5:33 P.M. under Government Code sections 551.071 and 551.074 and returned to open session at 6:11 P.M., at which time it took the public action to name an interim superintendent. The special meeting began at 5:30 P.M. and adjourned at 6:14 P.M.
The appointment places an interim leader in the district while the board moves forward with a superintendent search; at the same meeting the board approved a search firm to assist with that process. No public comments were recorded at the meeting. The district plans next steps through the board and administration to begin transition and search activities.
