Lake Travis ISD reviews High School #2 preliminary design, enrollment projections and Elementary School #8 timing

At the Nov. 20 board meeting Lake Travis ISD received a preliminary design presentation for High School #2 and an enrollment update tied to the district’s PEIMS October count and a January 2024 demographic study.
VLK Architects described a two-phase approach for High School #2: Phase One would be built to accommodate 1,500 students and Phase Two would add capacity for an additional 500 if and when needed. The design reflects earlier Board decisions and recent county land purchases within LTISD boundaries. Administrators indicated the Phase One sizing is intended to match projected near-term enrollment growth while leaving capacity for later expansion.
Separately, the district presented required PEIMS enrollment figures for 2024–25 and shared projected enrollment trends that could influence the schedule for opening Elementary School #8. The minutes note the presentation was for discussion only and that any action related to construction timing or bonding would follow additional planning and board consideration.
