Trustee Chris Neighbors moved ‘‘that the Board name Travis Motal as the Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools for Liberty Hill ISD,’’ and Trustee Brandon Canady seconded the motion. The board recorded a 6-0 vote in favor (Etzkorn — Yea; Carter — Yea; Neighbors — Yea; Canady — Yea; Hargrove — Yea; Parsons — Yea). The motion carried.
The motion was taken after the board met in closed session to consult with counsel and to interview and discuss superintendent applicants. The agenda entries cited provisions of the Texas Government Code relating to attorney consultation and personnel interviews (Tex. Gov't Code §§551.071, 551.074). The meeting minutes show the board adjourned to closed session at 6:01 p.m. and returned to open session at 6:35 p.m.
