Board conducts first reading of safety and meal policies, opts not to include optional AED policy
Summary
At its Feb. 5 meeting the board held a first reading of Policies 8121.2 (AEDs), 8130 (School Safety Plans), 8505 (Charging Meals) and 8520 (Free Meal Services) and decided not to include the optional AED policy in the manual.
The Board conducted a first reading of four policies and discussed whether to adopt them into the district policy manual.
The policies reviewed were 8121.2 (Automated External Defibrillators), 8130 (School Safety Plans and Teams), 8505 (Charging Meals and Other Food Items) and 8520 (Free Meal Services). Trustees debated inclusion of the AED policy and decided that Policy 8121.2 will not be added to the manual because it is optional.
The first reading was recorded as RESOLUTION 17-2-2026; the motion to conduct the first reading and the decision regarding AED exclusion were adopted unanimously.
