Denise Wist, the district’s School Business Official, opened the budget discussion with current employer contribution rates and revenue timing. Wist reported the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) rate at 17.6% and Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) at 8.25%/8.75%. She also provided a range for Medicare reimbursement per position between $202.90 and $689.90 and used an estimate of $316.97 for planning.
Wist said the district plans to use BOCES fuel oil bids and is "waiting on aid runs" that typically arrive the last week of January; she will continue to "plug in numbers as they become available." Board members asked questions about late‑bus and after‑school program lines as staff prepared to present a full draft budget. No budget vote occurred at the meeting.
