School leaders told the board the year began with strong engagement and routine assessments underway. Secondary Principal and Technology Director Kevin Keane said observations are ongoing and APPR evaluations are in full swing; he also noted a NYS burn ban means there will be no Homecoming bonfire.
Elementary Principal Rachel Wright reported Safety Patrol has started, thanked staff for organizing custodial appreciation activities, described RTI adjustments, and said STAR testing is helping guide instruction. Wright reported a 95.8% attendance rate for September.
