The Lampasas ISD board voted unanimously May 5 to delegate contracting authority to the superintendent for parts of the district's facilities procurement. The motion, made by Randy Morris and seconded by Mickey Edwards, gives the superintendent authority to negotiate with and enter into contracts with a board-approved architect and to conduct selection steps for a Construction Manager at Risk in consultation with the facility committee.
The delegation includes authority to determine selection criteria, seek proposals or qualifications, rank proposals and negotiate contracts. The minutes record that this was a board action with all present members voting yes; subsequent actions authorized the superintendent to execute a contract with the selected architect (WRA).
