The board reviewed and approved several finance-related items on Sept. 9, including district investment policies, a roster of approved independent investment-training providers and a resolution changing the district’s investment officer.
Deputy Superintendent Wes Eversole presented the district’s Investment Policy (Board Policy CDA Legal and CDA Local), disclosed that he had no personal business relationship or personal relationship requiring disclosure, and acknowledged his retirement. Trustees approved the district’s investment policies and strategies on a 5–0 vote after a motion from Ginger Collier and a second from Bruce Smith. The board also approved the list of independent investment-training providers—firms such as the Government Treasurers' Organization of Texas, TASB and Public Financial Management—on a 5–0 vote (motion by Aaron Appleby, second by Greg Bartley).
Finally, the board passed a resolution removing Wes Eversole as investment officer and appointing Anne Haehn to that role following Eversole’s resignation due to retirement; the motion (moved by Ginger Collier, seconded by Bruce Smith) passed 5–0. The resolution tasks the newly appointed investment officer with responsibilities consistent with district policy and state statute.
