The commission approved a conditional site plan for a 250‑foot self‑supporting wireless communications tower west of Joe Gottler Road and north of County Road 32, in the Alberta area. Staff said the site plan meets zoning requirements for a conditional use in the RA zoning district.
Staff recommended approval with standard site‑plan conditions and requested an FCC compliance letter after the applicant secures a lease with Verizon. Applicant representatives attended and answered questions; staff noted the landscaping plan largely retained existing vegetation around the cleared tower footprint. The commission voted in favor of the site plan subject to staff conditions.
Why it matters: Approving a new wireless tower can improve service coverage in the area, but staff and commissioners required operator compliance documentation and standard conditions before final signoff.
