Spafford Planning Board approves 2025 meeting schedule, officers and legal representation

The Town of Spafford Planning Board on Jan. 16 approved its 2025 meeting schedule and made routine organizational appointments.
Chairman Dennis Spina opened the meeting at 7:02 p.m. and the board voted unanimously to hold regular meetings at Spafford Town Hall on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Ross Hansen moved to approve the place, date and time; Kevin Haines seconded and the motion "Carried 4-0." The board then confirmed Costello, Cooney & Fearon, PLLC, with attorney Jim Gascon, as planning board counsel on a motion by Kevin Haines, seconded by Ross Hansen, also carried 4-0.
The board approved Kim Read as Planning Board Secretary and designated the Press-Observer as the official newspaper for notices; both motions passed on 4-0 votes. Members recorded as present for the roll call were Chairman Dennis Spina, Kate Cormack, Kevin Haines and Ross Hansen; Diane Dolcemascolo was absent.
The approvals set the board's administrative and legal arrangements for the year and establish the calendar for public hearings and regular business.
