The Lake Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on Oct. 21 issued findings that good cause did not exist for two teachers — term contract teacher Ryan Howard and probationary contract teacher Jenifer Malec — to abandon their employment contracts and authorized written notifications to the State Board for Educator Certification seeking sanctions.
For Ryan Howard, Superintendent Dr. Kristin N. Brown presented the recommendation for a finding in accordance with Texas Education Code Section 21.210(c)(2) and 19 Texas Administrative Code 249.14(j); Trustee Bruce Smith moved and Trustee Mark Tucker seconded the motion, which passed 7–0. The board then moved to authorize Board President Lance Stacy to send written notifications to Mr. Howard and to the State Board for Educator Certification. For Jenifer Malec, Dr. Brown presented a parallel recommendation; Trustee Ginger Collier moved and Trustee Scott Baird seconded the motion to issue the finding, which also passed 7–0, and the board authorized notification to the certification board.
