He told attendees the project aims to improve temperature control across classrooms and to avoid additional tax burden for residents.
Plumeo said the board voted in January to put the plan to a public referendum and outlined a timeline that depends on state approvals. “The best part is the scope of the work hasn't changed at all,” he said, describing months of negotiation with state partners and project designers to reach the current financing package. Organizers said NYSERDA’s grants and state building aid are central to lowering local costs and that the district plans outreach ahead of the March 10 vote.
