On Nov. 4, 2024, the La Porte Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $15,395,212 for competition gym and fine arts renovations at Lomax Junior High School. The special meeting began at 12:00 PM in the administration building board room and was called to order by Board President Danny Hanks.
Dr. Dustin Bromley, the district's deputy superintendent of support services, presented the bond-funded renovation proposal and construction plan. After the presentation, Trustee Mason Peres moved, and Trustee Karen Wheeler-Hall seconded, to "approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price of $15,395,212, as proposed by Tellepsen Builders, L.P. Construction Manager at Risk for Lomax Junior High School Competition Gym & Fine Arts Renovations." The motion passed by a vote of 6 to 0; Trustee Russell Schoppe was absent.
The approved GMP names Tellepsen Builders, L.P. as the construction manager at risk for the project and establishes the maximum price the district will pay under the contract terms presented at the meeting. No public comments were offered during the meeting.
With approval completed and no further business on the agenda, President Danny Hanks adjourned the meeting at 12:15 PM.
