Chazy board approves August financials, external audit and corrective action plan

The Chazy Union Free School District Board of Education on Oct. 14 approved the district’s August 2025 financial reports and accepted an external audit, then adopted a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) dated Oct. 6, 2025 to address findings from the July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025 audit.
Jason Bruce moved to approve the financial package—identified in board materials as the Monthly Financial Summary Memo, the Treasurer’s Monthly Report and the Appropriation Status Report—with Lee Barcomb seconding. The board voted unanimously to accept the external audit and the CAP. The CAP is intended to document corrective steps in response to the auditor’s findings for fiscal year 2024–25.
Board members said the approvals ensure the district meets its statutory oversight and reporting responsibilities while staff implements the CAP. No dissenting votes were recorded. The approvals complete the district’s immediate audit response; staff will follow the CAP’s reporting and corrective milestones as outlined to the board.
