Lone Star College Magnolia Center update; college donates $50,000 in scholarships to Magnolia ISD

Lone Star College Chancellor Castillo presented a construction update for the Magnolia Center, telling the board that demolition is complete, site fencing is in place, tree surveys and parking-lot clearing are done, and pond excavation is finished. Groundbreaking activity by Tellepsen Builders began in June 2024 under Bond 2014; Castillo said the project is expected to be completed in December 2025 with HVAC and EMS course offerings starting January 2026.
Chancellor Castillo also announced that Lone Star College is providing Magnolia ISD $50,000 for senior scholarships. The board received the update as part of the recognitions and presentations portion of the Sept. 9 meeting.
