Louise ISD trustees approve 2025–26 calendar, TEKS certification and multiple contracts

At its March 24 meeting the Louise ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025–26 academic calendar and TEKS certification, adopted board operating procedures and approved a slate of purchases and contracts, all by 6–0 votes. The board also authorized settlement negotiations in a solar appraisal matter.
The Louise ISD Board of Trustees voted March 24 to approve the district's 2025–26 academic calendar and to certify compliance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the coming school year.
Stephen Lutringer moved to approve the academic calendar and Blake Roehl seconded; the motion carried 6'0'00. Blake Roehl moved to approve the TEKS certification and Tori Koudela seconded; that motion carried 6'0'00 as well. The board also adopted Board Operating Procedures after a 6'0'00 vote (mover: Chad Hajovsky; second: Blake Roehl).
Trustees approved several procurement and contract items by the same margin, including purchases of band instruments and maintenance equipment and a professional-development contract (see separate items). The board recessed to closed session at 6:28 p.m. to discuss a legal settlement and personnel matters, reconvened at 7:14 p.m., and took open-session action on those items before adjourning at 7:17 p.m.
