Levelland ISD reports 54 teacher departures last year; board acknowledges new hires and assignments

Assistant Superintendent Rodney Caddell told the board that Levelland ISD lost a total of 54 teachers during the previous school year. The superintendent has approved several professional hires, including Sarah Ferrell (effective Aug. 28, 2024) and Veronica Martinez (effective Aug. 26, 2024), as well as numerous auxiliary hires and transportation staff additions.
Caddell also notified the board of multiple internal reassignments effective in September and noted there were no retirements reported. The personnel items were presented for the board's information; minutes record that the superintendent has delegated hiring authority for most professional staff under DC(LOCAL), as amended Jan. 13, 2022.
