As recommended by Essex County Attorney Dan Manning, the Town Board scheduled a public hearing for Oct. 9, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. to introduce Local Law No. 2 of 2024, "A Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law." The minutes note that the introduction is tentative and adoption may not be necessary once the 2025 budget is finalized.
The Town Clerk, Shauna Manning, certified the minutes of the Oct. 2 session. The board agreed to continue budget deliberations and to hold the Oct. 9 meeting at 5:30 p.m., when the local law will be publicly introduced and a hearing held.
