Board approves TASB Policy Update 123 and consent items; two election items moved for separate approval

The board voted to approve Consent Agenda items A–E during its Aug. 12 meeting. The consent items included approval of minutes from the July 22 regular meeting, adoption of TASB Policy Update 123 (which recommends revisions to numerous legal and local policies), a resolution regarding hazardous transportation route areas, the 2024–25 Magnolia T‑TESS appraisal calendar and appraisers, and approval of out-of-district transfer students.
During the motion (moved by Jay Michals and seconded by Sonja Ebel), trustees moved the contract with Montgomery County for election services and the Joint Election Agreement to the Considered Agenda for fuller discussion and separate votes. The TASB update materials and an accompanying instruction/explanatory note were included in the meeting packet as reflected in the minutes.
