Magnolia High junior Trace Bauer honored as SBOE Student Hero; One Act Play and art department receive state recognition

Principal Greg Quinn presented Magnolia High junior Trace Bauer to the board as a State Board of Education award recipient and noted that Trace has volunteered nearly 200 hours in support of various causes and aspires to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy. Congressman Morgan Luttrell presented a congressional commendation honoring Trace's recognition.
The board also honored members of the Magnolia High School One Act Play, including individual awards: Dean Baumgartner received 5A Best Performer and Tyce Mitchell was named All-Star Cast. District staff—Director Rod Sheffield, Assistant Director Justin Vincent and BBJH theatre teacher Amy Medina—were recognized for arts leadership. The board noted Magnolia ISD earned the Texas Art Education Association District of Distinction award, an honor given to roughly the top 5.5% of districts statewide.
