Marble Falls ISD honors students, teachers and staff with October awards and spotlights

Suzie Neuenschwander presented the October Superintendent's Awards to Highland Lakes Elementary students Jimena Ramirez and Reed Bailey, citing teachers' comments about the students' positive impact. Neuenschwander said the students received candy bouquets from their principals and certificates and gift cards from Superintendent Dr. Jeff Gasaway.
Danielle Hinson and Neuenschwander introduced Highland Lakes Elementary teacher Ellie Rios as the district's October Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award recipient; Neuenschwander praised Rios's “high energy work ethic and her dedication to the campus.” Dr. Gasaway presented an award and certificate to Mackie Price as the October Spotlight on Excellence, noting Price’s leadership in the district canned food drive that helped MFISD win the Battle of the Cans. Yarda Leflet recognized Colt Elementary teacher Caitlyn DeSpain as the Spotlight on Engagement recipient, citing student comments about her classroom projects.
The presentations were ceremonial and informational; no board action was required on the recognitions.
