Selectboard members raise local concerns: speeding, sidewalk study, East Street demolition, tax-sale outcomes

During the roundtable the board discussed speeding complaints, the Airport Road Sidewalk Study payment, demolition of a fire-damaged house on East Street scheduled for early August, and results of recent tax sales (one parcel bought by adjoining owner, one acquired by the town, one removed from sale).
At the Selectboard roundtable Jessica Teets requested a future agenda item to discuss speeding concerns that have been raised on Front Porch Forum. Joel Bouvier asked about the Airport Road Sidewalk Study payment included in the warrant and reported that demolition of a house on East Street that was severely fire-damaged "will begin during the first week of August." Michelle Perlee updated the board on recent property tax sales: "one parcel was purchased by an adjoining property owner, one was acquired by the Town, and one was not placed in the sale as the owner had come up with the tax money due." Michelle also offered condolences to the Truax family.
The items were noted for follow-up: town staff will provide the Airport Road Sidewalk Study report for future planning, code enforcement/processes will proceed for the East Street demolition, and the town treasurer will continue to report tax-sale outcomes.
