Council approves one-inch headstone height exception for Christensen memorial amid cemetery drought concerns

Council voted to approve the Clinton (Clint) Christensen monument; Anderson said staff will follow up and ensure mortuaries and purchasers are informed about the cemetery's size restrictions to avoid future noncompliance.
Council Members earlier had raised broader concerns about cemetery appearance because of drought and limited water availability. Anderson said it has been challenging to maintain the cemetery in the heat and that staff will be asked to review other monuments that may be out of compliance and report back with recommendations.
