The McCamey ISD board unanimously approved the district and campus improvement plans for the 2024–25 school year at its Nov. 20 regular meeting.
Board member Amber Selby moved to approve the plans and Ramon Venegas seconded; the motion carried with votes recorded as Jones, Venegas, Marquez, Selby and Acosta in favor. The approval was recorded during the consent and report portion of the meeting when staff and campus leaders were present to brief the board on campus needs and progress.
Selby introduced the motion on the floor: "The motion was made by Selby and seconded by Venegas to approve the McCamey ISD District and Campus Improvement Plans for the 2024-2025 School Year." The board did not record any opposing votes. The action follows presentations earlier in the meeting from campus principals about testing, attendance and parent participation that informed board discussion about priorities for the coming year.
The vote closes formal board consideration of the plans; staff will proceed with implementation consistent with the approved documents and under the oversight of Superintendent Michael Valencia and campus leadership.
