Supervisor Davina Thurston reported several routine town updates in the Old and New Business portions of the meeting. The town received no fuel bids and will remain with HYDE Fuel; asbestos removal at 4 Union Lane has been completed and demolition bids are due Jan. 22, 2025; and a Neighborhood Watch meeting is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2025 with representatives from the Essex County Sheriff, New York State Police and Village of Saranac Lake Police expected to attend.
On new business, the supervisor asked the board to authorize soliciting a quote for a surveyor to survey the right-of-way to a 16-acre town-owned parcel on West Main Street to resolve neighboring property-line questions; the board approved seeking the quote. Thurston also said she will contact the town's insurance agent to collect information on crime coverage for town employees.
