The Skokie School District 68 Board of Education voted to adopt a five‑year strategic plan for 2026–30 after a multi‑month development process that included a steering committee, surveys and an equity audit. Superintendent Grens told the board the district received 385 initial survey responses and incorporated staff, parent and community feedback into updated vision, mission, five core values and four strategic pillars.
Grens described the pillars as classroom, community, culture and care and said the plan is intended to be a living document focused on measurable progress. "We are Skokie 68," Grens said, summarizing the plan's framing. The administration said roughly 70% of respondents agreed with the draft values and 88% agreed with the pillars. The board instructed administration to develop a district scorecard and specific SMART goals in June, align school improvement plans in July, and return in August with finalized goals and communications to families.
