The council considered Ordinance 57-40, a utility salary ordinance, and approved an amendment and final passage in the same meeting.
Human Resources Director Jennifer McDuffie told the council the ordinance adds a safety director position (budgeted), changes the automotive maintenance supervisor title to fleet maintenance supervisor, and proposes a new energy analyst classification at the same pay grade as the replaced position. She also asked for a scrivener's amendment to correct the GIS analyst pay grade from 21.5 to 24. "This would be a safety director position," McDuffie said when asked to clarify the role. Councilman Horner moved to amend the ordinance as requested by staff; the council later voted to suspend rules and approve final passage. The ordinance carried 8'0to'00.
