Medina ISD board approves personnel moves, renews District of Innovation Plan and authorizes facilities work

The Medina Independent School District Board of Trustees met April 28, 2025, in the Medina ISD Administration Building Conference Room and handled several routine and personnel matters. President Brad Zirkel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; the board approved the minutes from March 24, renewed the District of Innovation Plan, and authorized the third phase of exterior doors work. All recorded motions carried 6-0.
The board took personnel actions after a closed session called under the Texas Government Code (Chapter 551.074). Trustees voted to terminate the probationary contract of Lance Montgomery, to hire Sarah Burkhart for a Special Education position, and to accept the resignation of Alicia Hinojosa. Business Manager Charles Orr presented a budget summary and check register during the meeting, and Superintendent Lindsey Kunz reported an enrollment of 244 and several upcoming calendar items, including a TIA reception on May 2 and the Summer Leadership Institute June 11–14.
