Mount Vernon ISD recognizes employees, student and state film achievement

Mount Vernon ISD trustees honored four employees of the month, celebrated Lincoln Orwosky’s selection to the ATSSB All-State Symphonic Band and noted the AV team’s fourth-place finish at the UIL State Film Competition on Feb. 26.
Mount Vernon ISD trustees used their March 10 regular meeting to recognize staff and student achievements. Dr. McCullough named March employees of the month as Cyndi Hassell (Elementary), Sandra Stinson (Middle School), Blake Wilkins (High School) and Donna Trantham (Campus Support). The board watched a short film produced by the district AV team.
The board also honored student Lincoln Orwosky for being selected to the Association of Texas Small School Bands' 2025 ATSSB All-State Symphonic Band and noted the AV team’s performance at the UIL State Film Competition in Austin, where it placed fourth overall among 1A–4A district schools on Feb. 26. The minutes record the recognitions but do not include direct excerpts of the presentations.
