Jesus Daniel Martinez was sworn in as the trustee for Place 7 of the Mission Consolidated Independent School District at a special board meeting on Aug. 28, 2024, in the Mission CISD Annex in Mission, Texas.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Cris Valdez introduced the agenda item, saying, "Item number four Oath of Office-Board of Trustees Place 7." President Iris Iglesias invited the incoming trustee forward, stating, "Mr. Danny Martinez, will you and your family please approach and the honorable Judge Fonseca." Ysmael D. Fonseca, Judge of the 476th District Court of Hidalgo County, administered the oath. After taking the oath, Martinez thanked his family, friends and supporters and said he was eager to work with the board to advance the district and serve students.
President Iris Iglesias formally welcomed Martinez, saying, "Welcome Mr. Martinez we look forward to working with you." The minutes record that the board—composed of Iris Iglesias, Jerry Zamora, Dolores Reyna, Natividad Sosa, Petra Ramirez and Veronica "Betty" R. Mendoza, with Interim Superintendent Dr. Cris Valdez present—was in attendance for the special meeting.
