Lubbock ISD board approves multiple MOUs, 4‑H status and testing schedule waiver

At its Sept. 18 meeting the Lubbock ISD Board approved a package of academic action items presented by Dr. Kathy Rollo. The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Children's Home of Lubbock (Motion: Lala Chavez; Second: Nancy Sharp); an MOU with Texas Care McHur Care (Motion: Mary Ann Lawson; Second: Lala Chavez); and district participation in the Texas Student Reengagement Program with Graduation Alliance (Motion: Nancy Sharp; Second: Lala Chavez). Each motion passed unanimously, 7-0.
The Board also approved a resolution granting extracurricular status to the 4‑H organization and agreed to adjunct faculty designation as presented (Motion: Nancy Sharp; Second: Beth Bridges). The resolution cites 19 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 76.1 concerning extracurricular activities. Finally, the Board approved a three‑year waiver for modified schedules on state assessment testing days (Motion: Nancy Sharp; Second: Beth Bridges). All votes were 7-0.
