The Lake Forest Community High School District 115 Board of Education approved referendum-funded lighting upgrades for the Little Theater and RMA.
Jordan, the staff presenter, said the work is part of a broader theater refresh scheduled for next summer but recommended buying lighting equipment now to avoid continued market escalation. "Honestly, between our first quote and being able to move forward and execute on this, there was already 14% of escalation in there," Jordan said, arguing early procurement would both save money and allow students to use the equipment during the current school year.
Trustees approved the motion on a roll call vote. The district indicated the lighting purchase is intended to be integrated with the planned refresh but procured earlier to manage cost risk and to support student access.
