The council unanimously approved the consent agenda at the start of its meeting May 4, clearing multiple administrative and project items.
Among the items approved were authorization for the city manager to sign a construction agreement with the University of Vermont and City of Burlington for the UVM Main Street Pond project, acceptance of the Sadie Lane deed and related stormwater easements with authorization for the city manager to enter stormwater agreements with the homeowners association, and the award of an engineering design contract for the Dorsey Street and Songbird Road crosswalk to Hoyle Tanner. The council also authorized the city manager to execute a Fire Station 11 design and construction administration contract with Smith Buckley Architects at a price not to exceed $136,200, upon city attorney review.
During discussion councilor Erica Quallentoll (deputy director of capital projects) answered a question about the Songbird Road crosswalk timeline, saying construction is planned next summer to coincide with the Spear Street Path work. The Chair called the motion and announced the vote: "And it is unanimous."
