Board expects state to grant extension for $200,000 grant to pay installation costs

The board discussed a roughly $200,000 grant the town has been awarded for an infrastructure project; Chair said the state indicated it would pay for installation costs rather than the structures themselves and that the town expects to receive an extension to complete RFPs and contractor selection next year. "And the and, basically, all of that 200,000 is gonna be used for contractors for installation because they when I talked to the state... they wanna pay for the installation, not the structure," the Chair said when summarizing the state's position.
Board members noted engineering costs already incurred (about $27,000 mentioned in discussion) and said they will prepare an RFP soon to meet the extended deadline. The extension, if granted, will allow the town to complete procurement next year and schedule installation in the following construction season.
