Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church and Cemetery accepted as eligible for the National Register; fundraising launched

Kim Rosamillia, a Tinicum resident and trustee/treasurer of the Upper Tinicum Cemetery Association, announced that the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church and Cemetery have been accepted as eligible historic resources on the National Register of Historic Places and that the cemetery association has begun fundraising to restore a failing 175‑year‑old stone wall.
"The restoration process will proceed in stages, and we are actively seeking public donations to preserve the wall," Rosamillia said, and handed copies of the official documents and a flyer with contribution details to township staff for posting. She also described the church's architectural features and the site's use for community concerts.
Township staff offered to post the flyer on the township bulletin board and website and discussed creating a QR code to facilitate donations. Rosamillia said the association will follow up with staff to provide contact information and a flyer with contribution details.
The recognition on the National Register may help with fundraising and preservation outreach; the association is seeking community support to fund phased repairs to the cemetery's historic stone wall.
