The board approved two calendar and planning items at its Oct. 15 meeting: designating Nov. 13, 2024 as a non-school day so elementary students may attend the UIL Academic Competition, and approving the 2024–25 Campus Improvement Plans.
Greg Hill presented both items. The motion to designate Nov. 13 as a non-school day was made by Kevin Morris and seconded by Jesus Tovar; the board approved it 6–0. Later, Jesus Tovar moved to approve the Campus Improvement Plans and Steve Clifton seconded; the plans were also approved unanimously. The minutes record the approvals but do not include detailed plan contents or calendars beyond the single UIL non-school day.
These approvals finalize the district's accommodation for the UIL competition and adopt campus-level improvement plans for the year; further implementation details are to be handled by campus and district staff.
