Moody ISD swears in new trustee; board keeps current officers

The Moody Independent School District board administered the oath of office to incumbent trustee Eddie Newman and newly elected trustee Beth Alton during its Nov. 13 regular meeting.
Sherri Vann administered the oath to both trustees. The board then considered organization of officers and, after a motion by Goodwin seconded by Mac Fairey, voted to retain the existing assignments: Justin Foster as president, Eddie Newman as vice-president and Mac Fairey as secretary. The motion carried unanimously with votes recorded as For: Alton, Fairey, Foster, Goodwin, Newman and Smith.
The district's vision statement was read during opening activities: "Moody ISD will demonstrate a firm commitment and dedication to the relentless pursuit of excellence in every level and area of education. We will recognize and value the potential for every student to become the absolute best that they can be."
