The board voted Aug. 6 to adopt a memorandum of understanding with the United Food and Commercial Workers union covering police dispatchers and call takers. Interim County Administrator Allen House described the agreement as covering dispatchers and call takers and said the term is retroactive to Jan. 2026 through Dec. 2028.
House summarized the compensation schedule: "The term of the contract is retroactive from January 2026 through December 2028, and it includes increases of 4, 3, and 2% respectively in each of those years," he said. Commissioner Davis moved approval and Commissioner Ramirez seconded; the roll call recorded a 10–0 vote in favor. Administration said the contract was budgeted and that HR and legal staff had negotiated the terms with the union.
