The Lanark City Council voted July 21 to award the East Pearl/School Drive street-improvement contract to Louis Trenching Services for $186,916.86 after receiving a recommendation from Fehr Graham.
Council members reviewed three bids for the project; Fehr Graham—Lanark’s engineering consultant—recommended the lowest bidder based on past performance. Alderperson Justin Rausch moved to award the contract and Alderperson Alisha Metz seconded the motion. The vote carried 4–0 with Alderpersons Mark Macomber and Brad Knutti absent.
Council discussion focused on bid evaluation and contractor availability; Fehr Graham advised the firm had performed quality work on the downtown streetlight project and was expected to be available to begin work soon. The project timeline and next steps will be coordinated with the city and the engineering consultant prior to construction start.
