Doug Conkey, representing the St. Johns River Water Management District, thanked the council for the Water Conservation Proclamation and reported that the area has received roughly 30 inches of rainfall over the past three months. Council President Kenny Sims asked the District about its position on data centers in St. Johns County; Conkey said, “The District has not taken a position on the matter,” and added that the District is monitoring the work of the Nassau County fact-finding committee.
Conkey’s remarks were delivered during the public-comment portion of the meeting and were presented as an informational update rather than a request for action. No District policy change was announced at the meeting.
