The council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-03 on first reading, a charter amendment to reflect the integration of a Town Manager into the Town Charter. Town Attorney Christian Waugh said this item is the second of two charter amendments the council requested; if advanced the amendment will appear on the General Election ballot as a referendum.
Councilman Dallis Hunter moved adoption on first reading and Council President Kenny Sims seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The council indicated the ordinance would be reviewed again at the June Monthly Workshop prior to the public hearing and final reading on July 2, 2026.
