The council unanimously adopted on first reading Ordinance No. 2026-02, a proposed amendment to the Town Charter that would remove the residency requirement for the Town Clerk. Town Attorney Christian Waugh described the item as the first of two charter amendments the council requested; if the council advances the item after additional review it will appear as a referendum on the General Election ballot.
