Midlothian ISD honors students, staff and alumni at Oct. 21 board meeting

Trustees used the Oct. 21 meeting to honor student teams and staff achievements. The Board recognized Destination Imagination teams and managers from McClatchey Elementary, LaRue Miller Elementary, Dieterich Middle School and others who participated in DI Global Finals. The board also observed National Principals Month by naming principals across the district and recognized MEF scholarship recipients, including Dolores McClatchey Teacher Scholarship winners Michelle Spradley, Gennifer Beasley and Rachel Andersen.
Kathryn Tessem, Matt McKay and Glen Carlisle presented the 2025 Athletic Hall of Honor inductees, naming athletes Lily Escamilla, Nick Hankins and Joey Wadsworth, coach/educator Gerald Slovacek, supporter Dawn Burge and the 2004 Midlothian High School Volleyball Team. The recognitions were ceremonial and no board action was required.
