Trustees approve SHAC roster, 2025–26 calendar, graduation plan and CTE-area purchases

The board approved several action items on Dec. 16. Trustees accepted a corrected School Health Advisory Committee list, approving the 2025–2026 SHAC Committee after Dr. Steven Beagle added several employees who had been omitted.
Trustees also approved the district’s proposed 2025–26 school calendar after staff reported that 68% of teachers who voted favored the option presented. The board approved a Foundation Graduation Plan to allow incoming freshmen to take AP and CTE courses beginning with the 2025–26 class, and approved purchases over $50,000 for fence installation, gates and post-core drilling at the new high school’s CTE area. An agenda item on Nederland High School GMP bond change orders was tabled.
